The every day happenings in the life of a new mom in St. Louis
...one preppy day at a time!

I'll do my best to take pictures when I actually wear them! The top is a bit trendier than usual for me - but I think it is adorable, and stalked it on JCrew.com after my size sold out to see if they'd add it back. Lo and behold, it reappeared and I snatched it up :) It'll be worn for the Junior League Christmas Party, SB's holiday party, and most likely at my family's Christmas dinner (maybe that's overkill?? maybe not...we shall see...)
It's a real beauty!! (and also a bit of a work in progress.....we still need some more ornaments, a few fun picks, etc. -- but just like the rest of the house, we'll collect those items as the years go on!) Today I had grand plans of putting up icicle lights outside of the house. We got the lights, the clips to attach them to the gutters, a big tupperware box to store everything after Christmas, and an extension cord.....all to find out that our outside electrical plugs don't work!! Let's hope it's an easy fix, otherwise I'll be making the rounds at Lowes and Home Depot to return a lot of stuff!!!
“I would be especially sad about it since I’m kind of — I really feel sorry for Elin — since me and my wife were at fault for hooking her up with him,” Jesper told ESPN. “We probably thought he was a better guy than he is. I would probably need to apologize to her and hope she uses a driver next time instead of the 3-iron. It’s a private thing, of course, but when you are the guy he is, the world’s best athlete, you should think more before you do stuff. . . And maybe not just do it, like Nike says.”
Do you remember this episode? Maybe this will jog your memory....Joey: (entering) Where's my underwear?!
Ross: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Come on, come on, what. You took his underwear?
Chandler: He took my essence!
Ross: Okay, now hold on. Joey, why, why can't you just wear the underwear you're wearing now?
Joey: Because, I'm not wearing any underwear now.
Ross: Okay, then why do you have to wear underwear tonight?
Joey: It's a rented tux. Okay. I'm not gonna go commando in another man's fatigues.
Chandler: Well, then it looks like somebody is gonna have to give back somebody his cushions.
Joey: Okay, you hide my clothes. I'm gonna do the exact opposite to you.
Chandler: What are you, what are you gonna show me my clothes?
Joey: Hey, opposite, is opposite! (leaves)
Chandler: He's got nothing!
(Joey enters wearing a lot of clothes)
Joey: Okay, buddy-boy. Here it is. You hide my clothes, I'm wearing everything you own.
Chandler: Oh my God! That is so not the opposite of taking somebody's underwear!!
Joey: Look at me! I'm Chandler! Could I be wearing any more clothes? Maybe if I wasn't going commando...

On Tuesday I flew out to New York City for a conference. I arrived at about 6pm, and immediately took a taxi to the Columbia University area to meet one of my best friends, Francie, for dinner. Dinner was not only delicious, but it was so fun to just gab about what's going on in our ever-changing lives. Friends like Francie are a true treasure. I mentioned her a few postings ago, but she was my roommate throughout college, and was with me through the very best of times, and most importantly through the very worst of times. She is truly one-of-a-kind, and I miss spending time with her on a regular basis. After dinner, we toured her apartment, and then I caught another cab to my hotel - Washington Square Hotel. Nothing fancy, but my brother lives near there (and of course he happened to be out of town this week, so I didn't even see him at all). The next morning I headed out to the conference, sat through 8-9 hours of presentations, and then headed back to the airport. It truly was a whirlwind. Being in New York and not being able to shop for even a second was such a shame!! What a neat city, but I'm happy to be back at home with SB.
