The nursery isn't quite finished, but it's well on it's way! So after we (I) determined that the first paint color was too bright, we sucked it up and primed, and painted the room again. This time Olympic's "Blue Booties" was the perfect sweet shade of blue. I've slowly added a few pieces of wall decor. I spray painted the metal stars navy, hung the curtains, and created some EmilyB original artwork for the area above the crib and above the dresser (which I don't have a picture of yet....just finished that one today).
The crib is from Pottery Barn Kids, the glider is a hand-me-down from my sister, the side table is something we found at the Pottery Barn outlet store while we were in Georgia (about 60% off regular price -- score!), and the dresser/potential changing table is from Costco (we got another great deal on that one -- the floor model was the only one left, so it was ours....with a 10% discount!). I have another true changing table that we may use if we determine this dresser is too high -- it's another hand-me-down from my sister, but it feels a little shaky.
And a certain someone followed me into the room for pictures. The dogs are very curious about what's going on in that room! They both love to take sunbaths in the light that comes through that window.

31 Weeks!!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 31 Weeks
Size of Baby: He is the size of a squash!
Weight: +26 (still yikes).
Maternity Clothes: Pretty much everything's maternity unless it miraculously happens to work well with an enormous belly....but those shirts and dresses are very limited :)

Size of Baby: He is the size of a squash!
Weight: +26 (still yikes).
Maternity Clothes: Pretty much everything's maternity unless it miraculously happens to work well with an enormous belly....but those shirts and dresses are very limited :)
Gender: It's a BOY!!
Movement: YES!! He's moving a bunch. He's really starting to feel like a real baby in there. I know that sounds silly, but his movements now are less flutter-like, and more like real legs and arms moving.
What I Miss: Running, Diet Coke, Sweet Tea -- lots of little things that pale in comparison to the excitement I have for this little guy!
Cravings: Nothing too major this week. Trying to eat healthfully!
Symptoms: Indecisiveness and forgetfulness!
Best Moment This Week: I'm not sure this is the "best" moment -- but strangers are starting to ask me about when I'm due, and if it's a boy or girl, etc. etc. I have a personal policy that I would never ask someone I don't know about being pregnant because it would be just awful to ask if someone wasn't really pregnant. I guess that means I must look really pregnant these days!! Also, I feel like everyone stares at me at the gym. Yes, I'm probably the only preggo in there, but I feel like they look at me like I'm walking around naked or something....it's just a baby bump, people!
9(ish) weeks to go!!

Bag Lady
I guess when you aren't really interested in buying clothes, your attention turns elsewhere.... I mean, a girl has to have a cute "hospital bag" for the birth of her first baby, right? I love the cheery looks of the following from Vera Bradley and Land's End... (hint, hint Husband....wouldn't one of these make a great Valentine's Day present :)

Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Bound!!
My most recent allegiances may lie with the Rams.....but any good Wisconsin girl is always a Packers fan!!! What better way to make it to the Super Bowl than to beat the hated Bears???!!! Fortunately the game wasn't too stressful -- the Bears had some serious QB troubles. Can't wait for the big game!!

Blue Booties!!
We have a paint color that works!!! This is monumental! After priming and painting the walls of our nursery a shade of blue called "sweet dreams," and determining it was more like "crazy, electric, spazzmatic dreams" -- we primed and painted again. Olympic's "blue booties" did the trick!! I'll post a pic eventually, but for now, I'm just basking in the excitement that is called "we finally have a painted nursery, and can start decorating the walls!" We finished it last night, and then I woke up to find that he had taken off all the tape, packed away the tarps, and put the furniture we have into position. It was so sweet.

29 Weeks!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 29 Weeks
Size of Baby: He is the size of a squash!
Weight: +25 (yikes). I had stopped including this figure because it stresses me out - but hey, it's real life, and eventually those lbs will come off. It's all in the name of producing a healthy little boy!

Gender: It's a BOY!!
Movement: YES!! He's moving a bunch. No kicks that have actually hurt yet, but he certainly makes his presence known (which I love, of course).
What I Miss: I know it's silly, but I miss wearing my old clothes. A pair of jeans without a stretchy panel sounds divine right about now (though that stretchy panel does come in handy when one eats a tad too much!)
Cravings: Sugar, sugar and sugar. I'm trying to eat well -- the week in Athens didn't exactly help, but I'm back on the healthy eating train this week!
Symptoms: Does indecisiveness count as a symptom? I can't seem to make up my mind at all! I'm still feeling well overall. Maybe a few more trips to the restroom here and there, but I'm sleeping well and on the whole everything's going well.
Best Moment This Week: SB and I traveled to Athens, GA to spend time with his family this past week (Wed-Mon), and for a baby shower that his SIL and one of our friends kindly hosted. It was really fun to see lots of friends in one place that we don't regularly get to see these days. Also...I passed the glucose test, which means I don't have gestational diabetes. Am I the only one who actually thought the orange drink tasted pretty good? I think that indicates I have too strong of a sweet tooth!!!
(Pic in the nursery with a new crib. We finally decided that the drop-down crib my sister handed down to us made us overly nervous with the new recalls, so we bought a new one. The walls are also a new color...but that may deserve a post of its own. We primed painted, and then I decided it was too bright.....so we've primed again and will likely paint this weekend.)

Lilly.....or Linus??
Someone's taken a liking to the beach towel that I put by the back door to dry snowy dog paws. She loves to drag this thing around the house. It's too cute!! In other news....we've woken up to a coyote just beyond our back fence the last two mornings. I don't think the coyote would do anything to our dogs (they're pretty big...and we have a fence)....but it still makes me a little nervous. Animal Control basically laughed at me when I called to report a coyote in our subdivision....saying that they are natural animals in this area.

Venting....
Indecision is killing me with the baby's nursery. I had ordered bedding, bought a rug and then decided that when I saw them in person they didn't quite match, and I didn't know if I liked the whole scheme anymore. Soooo I sent back the bedding, returned the rug and we were back to square one (minus $16 in shipping to return the bedding - hate that). We then bought new bedding from PBK that is white and navy, but totally doesn't match my hand-me-down upholstered gliding armchair (from my sister), which is green and white gingham. Soooo now I either have to figure out how to make a slipcover, or find a nicely priced one at Ikea or Target or something along those lines. Have any of you ever made or bought a slipcover? Any advice here? It looks like it would cost like $400 - 500 to have it recovered professionally, which is basically the price of a new chair - so that doesn't make sense. We are like 12 weeks out from the due date, and I'm waffling over whether or not to paint the room, what to do with this armchair, wall decor, etc. etc. Can't someone just make these decisions for me? I think I just need to jump in with both feet and stick to a plan.

Happy 2011!!
Our New Year's Eve was fairly uneventful. In fact, we actually celebrated December 30 by going out to dinner at a really nice steakhouse in town (Annie Gunn's). They truly have the best steak around. Last night we watched movies, ate leftovers, and relaxed together on the couch. Big fun with the preggo lady :) haha!
